TRANSFIGURATION (BR. NELSON OLAGUNJU)

Today’s Gospel presents to us the event of the Transfiguration. The disciples of Jesus beheld Him in His glory, they saw the patriarchs and heard again, as it was on Sinai, the voice of God charging them to listen to Jesus.
The event of Transfiguration provides us with a correct clue to who we shall later be. It confirms the reality of heaven and the reward for the just. It encourages us to work harder and not to compromise in the face of difficulties because heaven is far greater than all the sufferings of this life (cf Roman 8:18).
Beloved, the Church calls on us during this Lenten period, that our fasting, prayers, penances, almsgivings, confessions and all other disciplines of the season shall never go unrewarded. Eternal glory is our goal, may we never miss it. Happy Sunday!
